Mass Access offers 2 Alliance for Community Media

National Conference Scholarships for 2008

As part of MassAccess's outreach efforts, MassAccess donates two scholarships per year to individuals that require assistance to attend the Alliance for Community Media's International Conference and Trade Show. The scholarship is a full registration to the ACM Conference which takes place this year in Washington, D.C. Mass Access is offering two full registration scholarships with a $400 stipend for travel and lodging in an effort to facilitate attendance at the national conferences by interns, staff of small access centers, access volunteers, independent producers and those traditionally denied access to the media who may otherwise be unable to attend. You must live in Massachusetts or work at an access center in Massachusetts, and be a Mass Access member to apply.

2 ACM Grassroots Scholarships available to Northeast Region

Scholarships available for the ACM National Conference in Washington, DC, July 9-12.

The ACM Grassroots Scholarship is open to individuals, access centers with small budgets, volunteers, independent producers and interns. Currently, recipients need not be individual members of the alliance.

Website: Individuals can download the scholarship form on the ACM Website.

Individuals submitting downloaded applications must deliver them to their local Access center by May 2, 2008.

Access Centers: The scholarship forms can be made available at access centers. The centers are responsible for forwarding completed applications to the Region Representative. Centers must forward completed scholarship applications to the Region Representative by May 9, 2008.

Regions: Select & notify scholarship recipients by May 16, 2008. This allows winners ample time to make travel and lodging arrangements. Winner notification needs to include blank registration form.

Completed forms will be returned to region reps. The region reps will forward all completed forms to the conference planner with letter of acknowledgement by June 10, 2008 Alliance for Community Media National Conference Scholarship 2008

Guidelines and Criteria

The National Conference will be held July 9-12, 2008 in Washington D.C.

The Alliance for Community Media will provide one full conference registration with meals to scholarship recipients selected by Alliance Regional Boards.

How to Apply:

Submit your application to your local PEG Access Center or Region Board by the deadline.

Be sure to complete all of the information and insure that contact information is accurate.

The deadline date for applications: 5:00 PM Friday May 2, 2008

The NE Region is augmenting their scholarships with a $500 reimbursement stipend to the scholarship recipients. Deadline for application is May 2, 2008. Please email your application to Nancy Richard, Northeast Region Scholarship Chair, nrichard@pactv.org.
