Grant Information
..............................................................................................................
With the current legislative atmosphere, obtaining grants could be a major part of a an access center's income.  Some grants require very little in terms of written material to apply.  Some require you to answer pages of questions, forms, statements and other paperwork.  When looking for a grant, have a specific program in mind that you want to fund.  Work with other non-profit organizations to collaborate with.  This will not only set you up for funding for grants, it will help your outreach efforts.

Some programs you may want to fund include:

  • After school programs
  • Programs to bring technology to senior citizens
  • Programs to help disadvantaged youth
  • Unusual programs

Look to some of these sources for grants:

  • Large businesses - look on-line.  You may have to dig a little to find their community donations/grants programs
    but they are there
  • Local banks
  • Other local businesses
