The MassAccess Board of Directors met on May 22, 2022 at WinCam in Winchester, MA with some members present and some members meeting virtually via Zoom. We discussed the Spring Conference, Fall Meet & Greets, bringing on new board members, and some legislation.
We are currently buttoning up preparations for the Spring Conference, the first in-person Spring Conference since 2019. As a reminder, we’ll be at the Sheraton in Framingham on June 17, 2022, with doors opening at 8:30 a.m. If you register by May 31, 2022, you’ll be entered into many fabulous prizes graciously given to us by our sponsors. The MassAccess Board of Directors is now offering trial board seats for the remainder of 2022. Our bylaws state that we are allowed up to 11 board members, but we’re currently operating with just eight. We thought it might be a good idea to allow some folks to get a sense of what it’s like to work on our board before making any kind of long-term commitment.
Anyone choosing to take on a trial board seat this year will have until 12/1/22 to decide if he or she would like to be considered for a vacant one, two, or three-year board term at the MassAccess Annual Meeting in January. We’re looking for folks who are interested in production, online presence, event planning, member development, and more. If you think you have what it takes, simply drop us a line at governance@massaccess.org.
Things are slow-moving with H.130. It has been extended in committee as many of you know. The bill is not dead yet and once we get news, we will share it with the membership. So keep an eye out on the forum for further information. Our First Friday Conference Call will be on June 3rd, 2022 on DialPad.
