The City of Gardner is seeking to fill the position of Cable Producer. The Cable Producer will report to the Director of Local Program Origination for the City of Gardner (the “City”) Educational Television Department in the performance of his/her duties.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Responsible for the video production of programs for the channels, which includes camera operation, editing, directing, technical direction, audio, in house and location technical planning and execution.

· Plans and implements production of GETV programs and events.

· Communicates with various city departments, organizations and private citizens to develop new and continuing programs.

· Assists in scheduling and the preparation of programs for GETV.

· Assists in research of new equipment for GETV.

· Coordinates equipment repairs with vendors.

· Assists with maintenance and repair of the facility and equipment.

· Oversees GETV operations in the Director’s absence.

· On call in emergency situations.

· Performs similar or related work as required, directed or as situation dictates.

Requirements:

· Must have Associate’s degree in video production or related field; and three to five years of related experience in Video Production and editing; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

· Thorough knowledge of video production methods, video signals, resolutions; understanding of video editing, compression and formats, video equipment, connectors, cameras, computers, editing systems and sound equipment. Knowledge of live audio support systems and operation.

· Ability to implement and maintain the city’s programming schedule. Ability to troubleshoot video systems. Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing.

· Skill in the operation of modern video systems. Strong interpersonal skills. Good presentation skills; use of all video equipment, computers, and work-related software applications.

· Must possess valid driver’s license.

· Must be available to work nights and/or weekends from time to time.
