The Town of Littleton is seeking qualified applicants for a part time 19 hour/week, non-benefit eligible Program Coordinator position in the Littleton/Boxboro Community Television office. Under the direction of the LCTV Executive Director, the Program Coordinator will assist with production of content; training access producers, volunteers and interns; import media, schedule shows and create bulletin board announcements, as well as helping with the daily routine of the studio.
Successful candidates will possess a High School Diploma, Associates Degree in Communications desired; two years of technical experience in cable/broadcast television production and familiarity with PEG Access Media; or any equivalent combination of education and experience. A valid motor vehicle operators’ license is required. Position Purpose:
The purpose of this position is to assist the Production in the production of professional quality public access programming for Littleton Community Television (LCTV). The Program Coordinator will assist with production of content; training access producers, volunteers and interns; import media, schedule shows and create bulletin board announcements, as well as helping with the daily routine of the studio.
Supervision:
Supervision Scope: Performs a variety of responsible duties, both professional and administrative, requiring the exercise of experience and judgment to interpret guidelines and carry out assignments. Work at this level requires technical experience in cable/broadcast television production and familiarity with PEG Access Media.
Supervision Received: Works under the general supervision of the Executive Director and in accordance with studio policies and standards. The position is subject to review and evaluation in accordance with the Towns personnel policies.
Supervision Given: Will occasionally supervise Live Broadcast contactors, interns and volunteers. Will perform the daily duties of the Production Supervisor in their absence.
Job Environment:
Administrative work is generally performed under normal office conditions, however, the taping of shows and events, both in studio and on location, requires moderate lifting of equipment and may expose the employee to adverse weather conditions and uneven footing. Position requires the employee be available for taping night meetings and may, at times, require work on weekends.
Must operate an automobile, computers, all standard office equipment, and use and maintain all television production and signal transmitting equipment.
Makes frequent contact with the general public, local civic organizations and town government departments.
Errors in judgment could affect the studio’s credibility in the delivery of important municipal and community information.
Essential Functions:

- Assist the Department with the day to day tasks required to operate Littleton Community Television (LCTV).
- Maintain the schedules for studio and editing suite usage and assist in preparation of the weekly program schedules.
- Maintain the Community Bulletin Board and create the necessary announcements.
- Assist with the training of Live Broadcast contractors and maintain their work schedule.
- Instruct interns, volunteers and access members in use of equipment, editing, studio, and field production.
- Maintain the equipment loan program.
Recommended Minimum Qualifications
Education. Training and Experience:
High School Diploma, Associates Degree in Communications desired; two years of technical experience in cable/broadcast television production and familiarity with PEG Access Media; or any equivalent combination of education and experience. A valid motor vehicle operators’ license is required.
Knowledge. Ability and Skill:
Knowledge: Thorough understanding of non-linear editing software, such as final Cut Pro, Avid or equivalent. Knowledge of field and studio video production, the use and maintenance of production equipment and the varied modes of cable-casting and other dissemination technologies. Knowledge of new social media such as: Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, VOD, streaming and blogging.
Ability: Ability to operate and maintain television production equipment and editing systems. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to train, develop and coordinate active volunteer programs.
Skill: Skill in all the above referenced methodologies, equipment and systems. Excellent camera skills and a keen eye for quality control. Good organizational and communications skills.

Employee is required to stoop, bend, and\or crawl in order to set-up equipment both indoors and out. Must carry equipment weighing as much as 30-35 pounds and be able to access all levels of structures\buildings and traverse uneven terrain while taping outdoors. Vision and hearing at/or correctable to normal ranges.
