Beverly Community Access Media (BevCam) seeks a new full-time Community Engagement Manager to manage, develop, and direct our outreach and engagement activities. BevCam is a community media center serving the city of Beverly, Massachusetts.
The ideal candidate should have a background in outreach and marketing. Candidates should be comfortable working collaboratively as part of a team, working independently, and in project management. Organizational skills are also necessary.
The position answers to the Executive Director. The search will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled. Please include salary requirements in your cover letter.
OVERVIEW
The Community Engagement Manager is responsible for fostering positive community relations and engagement by overseeing the implementation of BevCam’s outreach programs. They take the lead on cultivating and managing organizational partnerships and sponsorships and work with BevCam leadership to build and implement BevCam’s yearly marketing and engagement plan. This position manages the organization’s communications tools, including but not limited to BevCam’s social media platforms, newsletters, and member database. Additionally, the Community Engagement Manager works to support the implementation of the BevCam strategic plan. This position reports to the BevCam Executive Director.
PRIMARY DUTIES
- Develop and cultivate and maintain community partnerships and sponsorship opportunities
- Seek grant and underwriting support for outreach and engagement projects
- Work with Executive Director to provide oversight of BevCam’s internships
- Identify tabling community presentation opportunities
- Work with staff and leadership to develop a yearly outreach budget
- Take the lead, with the support of staff and the board, on significant engagement events
- Oversee management of BevCam mailing lists, membership and donor databases, and giving platforms.
- Track and report outreach analytics and membership growth
- Develop content for the newsletter, social media posts, special campaigns, and press releases
- Work with staff to oversee the implementation of BevCam brand standards across distribution platforms
- Instruct and develop, with staff, workshops and training modules
- Work with staff to cultivate a welcoming environment at BevCam
SECONDARY DUTIES
- Be able to operate production facilities at local government and school locations
- Direct and crew meetings and special events
- Have an understanding of the BevCam’s broadcast server system and online distribution platforms
- Encode and prepare content for distribution
- Edit and provide editing support for access users and clients
- Assist in maintaining server
- Understand and assist in bulletin board operation; create bulletin board messages
- Answer phones and assist in scheduling facilities as needed
- General office duties including maintaining databases, receiving and shipping packages
- Complete all necessary and required forms as required and directed
- Assist staff and leadership in making recommendations for equipment and office purchases
- Assist in promotional and outreach efforts, following established protocols including BevCam social media platforms
- Provide production assistance and technical guidance to community producers and students
REQUIREMENTS
- Commitment to the field of community media and to the principles of free speech
- Demonstrated ability in workshop instruction
- Demonstrated ability in graphic design
- Strong knowledge of social media marketing
- Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Mailchimp, Canva
- Excellent communication skills
- Provide a warm and welcoming environment to ALL who come into the studio
