MAC Channel/News Assistant
The Waltham Community Access Corporation (or WCAC) is a non-profit cable access television station in Waltham, MA.
WCAC seeks a full-time MAC Channel (Municipal Access Channel)/News Assistant, to shoot government meetings, local events and assist in the production of WCAC’s weekly news program, Waltham Newswatch.
Applicants must be competent, polite and professional, capable of handling many different aspects of TV production on tight deadlines. Job requirements include:
- Taping several government board meeting each week
- Preparing the WCAC studio for government/news tapings
- Shooting events (in HD) quickly and professionally
- Editing footage into brief news stories with Final Cut Pro10
- Handling and troubleshooting shared equipment
- Writing and recording voiceovers
- Creating graphics with Motion or LiveType
- Must have a working knowledge of Photoshop
- Being a team player, following instructions, working independently
- Must be able to multi-task
Applicants must have their own vehicle and live relatively close to Waltham for last-minute assignments. They must be available evenings and occasional weekends. A four-year degree in Communications or related field or equivalent work experience required.
