Job Description
Northampton Open Media is a forward-looking ever-evolving community media arts center, a public, education, and government access tv station, a community arts center, and a public multimedia hub. The Production Manager position is a full-time salaried position employed at will. NOM is an Equal Opportunity Employer. The position will be expected to work some weekends and evenings. The intention of the position is to not work employees past an average of 40 hours per week, with no more than 4 in-person days per week on average.
Duties
The duties of the Production Manager will include but not be limited to:
- Produce content for NOM, including live events, regular government meetings, original content, paid production, and PSA’s
- Schedule and teach production classes to the community in all aspects of production
- Research and recommend and learn new production technology on an ongoing basis
- Maintain computers, maintain, inventory and repair (as possible) equipment
- Manage class and member sign-ups and notifications
- Maintain and organize facility spaces
- Consulting with members and partners to realize their projects, troubleshooting their technical issues
- Equipment and facility scheduling and checkin/checkout
- Be active on NOM social media platforms
- Work in all aspects of NOM productions - shoot, light, edit, direct, set-up, breakdown
- Aid in planning, operation, outreach and logistics with NOM projects such as 7 Day Film Sprint, Crowdsourced Cinema, Cinema Northampton, Focus Locus, and Arts Night Out
- Proactively participate in developing regular yearly self-improvement plans
- Other duties as deemed necessary by the Executive Director.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Very strong experience in all aspects of studio and field production, including post-production, audio, lighting, camera operation, producing, wiring, live streaming and multi-camera directing
- Ability to teach classes and instruct in various multimedia production subjects
- Familiarity with social media, word processing, and spreadsheet software
- Familiarity with Adobe Premiere and creative suite
- Ability to lift 40 pounds
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Able to work a flexible work schedule including some nights, weekends, and holidays
- Candidates are required to pass a CORI background check.
- Degree in media or multimedia arts or equivalent experience
- Ability to work with diverse communities, with diverse demographics, opinions, and backgrounds.
Compensation
The salary for the position is $60,000 a year. It includes health benefits partially supplemented by the organization, including dental, disability, life insurance, a matched IRA, paid vacation and development opportunities..
